UFP Edge Layoff Rapid Response Event
- — July 28 2025
Bonner, Mont. – This afternoon, the Montana Department of Labor & Industry (MTDLI) was notified of a layoff at UFP Edge in Bonner and is mobilizing resources quickly to support impacted workers and their families through this transition. MTDLI will host a rapid response event to support UFP Edge employees affected by the layoff, their families, and impacted community members. The event is designed to help laid-off workers quickly access resources needed for re-employment in the community and to learn about assistance during the transition period.
“Montanans are defined by their resilience and powerful work ethic," said Commissioner Swanson. "In the face of disruption, our responsibility is to stand shoulder‑to‑shoulder with hardworking people—making sure they have every tool, opportunity, and resource to regain stability and continue contributing their skills to Montana’s economy.”
Staff from the Department of Labor & Industry will be onsite to:
- Assist with filing Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims
- Provide guidance on dislocated worker programs and retraining options
- Help employees connect with local employers and job search resources
- Answer questions about available workforce support services
