Helena, Mont. - The Montana Department of Labor and Industry is excited to present the 2025 Aaniiih Nakoda Workforce Expo, a dynamic event designed to connect students and job seekers with hands-on career exploration, skills training, and local employment opportunities. This expo aims to empower attendees while supporting businesses eager to grow their workforce in North Central and Hi-Line Montana.
“We’re thrilled to bring this event to the Fort Belknap community, marking the first time that our agency and a Tribal Nation has partnered to bring a job fair to Indian Country,” said Commissioner Sarah Swanson. “This expo is about opening doors—giving our youth and community members the tools and opportunities to succeed while helping local employers find the talent they need to thrive.”
Local businesses will provide interactive, industry-specific experiences, giving students a firsthand look at potential career paths. Industry experts will share insider knowledge and lead live demonstrations − highlighting the skills and opportunities within their fields. From immersive workshops to engaging activities, attendees will discover the exciting possibilities awaiting them in today’s job market.
“Fort Belknap Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO), in collaboration with Montana’s DLI, is thrilled to host rural Jr./Sr. high school students to provide hands-on experiences to inspire their career interests,” said TERO Director Nancy Boushie. “If just one student reaches out to a business they’re interested in working at, then all our efforts were a great success. We, however, know this event will generate numerous career stories and may even stand as a critical, life-changing day in a student’s life as they begin their journey towards a rewarding career.”
