The Montana Department of Labor & Industry (DLI) today celebrated 10 years of providing free safety training to Montanans at a virtual Miles City SafetyFestMT event.
“SafetyFestMT is one of the tools we use to help promote a culture of safety across our great state,” Acting Commissioner Brenda Nordlund said. "While it may look a little bit different right now, we’re still providing the same free, quality training and collaborating with the business community across the state to assist workers in acquiring the skills they need to stay safe at their workplace.”
The Miles City SafetyFestMT event marks DLI’s tenth year of providing safety training to Montanans in a variety of career fields. The event will continue through May 14, offering a variety of classes ranging from traditional safety and certification courses, to new COVID-19 workplace safety topics. Approximately 240 participants have registered for the virtual event. A full agenda can be found at http://safetyfestmt.dli.mt.gov/miles-city-2020.
“One workplace injury is too many, which is why one of our main priorities at the Department of Labor & Industry is to ensure the safety and health of each of Montana’s workers,” Nordlund said. “I want to thank each of the partners that help provide support and resources to this event. Each SafetyFestMT class is made possible through the help of volunteer instructors who donate their time.”
